  • Add buttons to the Toolbar - Use buttons instead of links as bookmarks
  • Bookmark frequently visited pages - access them from anywhere!
  • Search Smarter - a new feature to give instant suggestions as you type
  • Share Web Pages - Like a web page? toolbar will let you send it to your friends.
Google also has a button gallery that I recommend you look at.

Yahoo says, "Are you Kidding?!" PDF  | Print |  E-mail

So Yahoo fired back and denies that they have thrown in the towel to Google.  Good for them!  I still think they need to do a lot of work and would it hurt by cleaning up the search results page with LESS advertisements?  If you search for something at Yahoo.com, it doesn't matter what, you have 3 paid adverts above the results and of course the whole right side.  I don't mind the right side, but does the top 30-40% of my screen in 1280x1024 resolution need to NOT be the organic results from Yahoo's Search algo's?  UGH!  Man, I hate that!

Yahoo concedes defeat to Google PDF  | Print |  E-mail

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it for myself in print.  Here is a quote:

Yahoo! Inc., one of the first Internet search companies, has capitulated to Google Inc. in the battle for market dominance.

"We don't think it's reasonable to assume we're going to gain a lot of share from Google," Chief Financial Officer Susan Decker said in an interview. "It's not our goal to be No. 1 in Internet search. We would be very happy to maintain our market share."

I really find it amazing that they don't have a goal to be #1.  So what are Yahoo! plans then?  Maybe they are going after a different market share?  Why is there YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) if they have capitulated to #2?  Why would advertisers use them?  Cheaper?  Certainly not as many users!  And from the below quote that seems to be what they are trying to do:

"We have held our own, and we should gain revenue share in the industry as we roll out these new initiatives," Decker said in the interview after the company reported earnings last week.

"Our goal has been to hold our share and to be a leading, if not the leading, total marketing platform, which would include both brand and search."

According to ComScore Yahoo global search is down to 19% from 27% while Google's rose to 60% from 47%.  Yahoo counters this by sayng Comscore does not look at Asian results where Yahoo! says they are very strong.

Similar Page Checker PDF  | Print |  E-mail

I ran across a great tool that can compare pages and see how similar they are, check out this Similar Page Check   If your putting up websites with articles or just "massaging" data this is great.  Would be much better if it tried to find other pages on the internet SIMILAR to yours and then do this in an automated fashion.  Maybe someday huh?
